Hi there, I’m

A creatively curious

individual who’s on an

ongoing adventure to

Explore all things creative.

Growing up in a small South Dakota town, creatives surrounded me. My mom sews and quilts, and my grandmothers sewed, crocheted, knitted, embroidered, etc. My father loved DIY and woodworking and even explored oil painting alongside episodes of Bob Ross. I have an aunt who is an oil painter and a great-uncle who created stunning pencil-drawn portraits.

Staying curious and giving things that interest me a try, even when I haven’t a clue what I’m getting myself into, is my superpower!

I was and still am a creative kid, spending my birthday money on pencil sets, oil pastels, and paper. I dive into any arts and crafts project I get the opportunity to experience. I attribute this to a long line of creatives who came before me. I am one of the few whose childhood curiosity for all things creative was nurtured and encouraged by those around me, rather than stifled. I will be forever grateful for that.

As a self-taught artist, I navigate my artistic adventures through Google and YouTube, take classes from other artists when possible, and craft the creative life I love in my small home studio

When I'm not working my full-time job or creating art to share with you here, I indulge in my other hobbies, which include DIY and home renovation projects, gardening, cooking, and flower arranging.

One of the most significant creative projects I have ever tackled is renovating my 1908 Victorian cottage, a passion project on a huge scale, if you will.😊

The majority of the art for sale here falls into the category of “printmaking.” However, you’ll also find some digital art, watercolor paintings, and a few handcrafted gift items. (I'm curiously creative, remember😉)

You’ll quickly discover that flowers

are my biggest inspiration.

Several years ago, I planted a cut flower garden with the specific purpose of having beautiful flowers I could easily access at a moment’s notice when the urge strikes me to draw or paint. However, the cut flower garden provided me with more than just inspiration for art.

Sharing home-grown flower arrangements with friends, family, and neighbors has brought me more joy than I ever thought imaginable.

Over the past few years, as I have been creating and selling art, I’ve also begun inviting community members into my newly renovated home to participate in various creative workshops. Being a curious and creative person by nature, I can strongly relate to the allure of looking at a piece of art and thinking, “I wonder if I could make that myself.”

I’m the type of person who jumps in and asks questions later, so when a new art or craft medium piques my curiosity, I typically add the tools and supplies to my cart if I don’t already have them, and jump right in. After a trial or two, I invite people to give it a try with me through my Try It Tuesday workshop series.

These workshops provide a small, intimate setting for creating with no pressure to perfect a craft. The only expectation is to stay curious and open to learning something new. They also provide the added convenience of not needing to purchase your art supplies or tools until you’ve had a chance to decide if that activity is something you’d enjoy pursuing further.
