Chine Colle’- is a fun and special printmaking technique in which patterned or colored papers are adhered to the print, allowing you to add colors and textures to the print without having to carve a second printing block.
For this workshop, I’ll have many of my old printing blocks on hand and available, and you can use them as a base to add your colored and patterned papers to create different effects. If you have previously taken my Linocut basics workshops, feel free to bring your own Linocut print blocks to experiment with.
What you’ll learn
A little bit about the history of Chine Colle’ Technique
The types of papers that work best for this technique
How to ink up a printing block
Proper clean-up techniques
Who this class is for
Anyone who has previously taken the linocut basics workshops and would like to explore how they could stretch the use of their carving blocks with this technique
Beginners who don’t want to hassle with carving their own blocks but would like to play around with adding collage paper to some previously-carved blocks. *This technique could also be used with precut stamp blocks purchased in arts and craft stores once you know the technique.
Anyone seeking a creative outlet in a low-pressure environment. We’re here to be curious and learn not to judge or shame.
If you’re up for more In depth Learning Think about a Printmaking Club Pass. This will give you access to all three Classes in this Spring session for just $75, saving you $15 compared to buying them each individually.
